Do I need any BBQ experience to attend a class?

Absolutely not. BBQ classes at North West Grilling are designed to be accessible to everyone. Classes are kept small to ensure each person on the class is able to receive the time and attention they deserve so that they can safely enhance their BBQ skills.

How many people can attend a class?

8 people. This is deliberate to ensure that the experience remains personal and to maximise the experience for everyone on the course. We will never have more than 8 people on a course so that there is ample opportunity for everybody attending to get hands on during the course. Whether that be to take charge of a BBQ yourself or to be a part of the food prep, each and every person will be part of the process. The only thing I cook myself is a bacon sandwich at the start.

Do I need to bring any of my own gear?

Not at all. Of course, if you have your own favourite pair of BBQ tongs then feel free to bring them along. At North West Grilling we will provide everything you need from the food, meat thermometers and aprons, to the grills and fuels for the fires.

What equipment will I get to use during the class?

At North West Grilling, we have invested in the best outdoor cooking gear money can buy. We have Kamado Joe ceramic grills, Weber Mastertouch kettle BBQs, limited edition Gozney Roccboxes, GrillStream 5 Burner grill, Thermapen One meat thermometers, Thermapen RFX wireless probes to name a few.

What happens if the weather is poor?

We are very lucky to have a comfort cabin at North West Grilling, complete with fully stocked drinks fridge, comfy sofa and a large dining table so that if the weather does turn ugly, we can use the indoors for some shelter. We also have gazebos to use as cover should it rain lightly. The majority of classes will be held outside and as true brits, we will brave the elements.
